Yanahime Shrine [Mitsuke Tenjin]

Known as the Tokai region's preeminent god of learning. Along the approach to the shrine is a bronze statue of Shippei Taro, a dog famous for killing monsters in a fairy tale.
On the weekend immediately before August 10 of the old lunar calendar, this shrine plays host to the unique "Mitsuke Tenjin Hadaka (Naked) Festival," a nationally designated important intangible folk-cultural property.
